Amsterdam Days

 Happy Days in Amsterdam.  I spent a day photographing this beautiful city on my most recent business trip, next time I'll be exploring with my wife & child.

  Europe is great when the weather plays along.  I especially love the architecture, the cobblestone streets, the cafe's (without smoke billowing out).......it just feels so civilized.

 

Chilling in Amsterdam

Here are two variations of the same photograph - which do you prefer?  This dog was chilling out in Amsterdam, clearly having inhaled too much smoke which comes billowing out of the cafés.

Smoke & a Pancake!

'Totaal ongelooflik mooi.'  Imagine visiting Dutch friends in Amsterdam and one morning using the wrong front door to quickly step out for a breakfast pancake.

And here is the obligatory Dutch bicycle, the silent killer that attacks the unsuspecting South African pedestrian from the wrong side when crossing the street.

Amsterdam Canals

On a recent Rusticus wine marketing trip to Holland I had a few hours to spend exploring Amsterdam.  What a beautiful city, once off the beaten track and away from the city center it was truly fantastic.  I generally have a great sense of direction, but it was quite challenging negotiating my way through this city with its criss-crossing alleys & canals, with so many bridges all looking alike.
